The Covid-19 pandemic has changed the world, at least temporarily. Probably almost every person around the globe has experienced some kind of impact of the pandemic. In some cases, perhaps only small things, but in many cases a partial or complete restriction of freedom of movement. Or even death amongst family members or close friends.

Personally, I hope that we can all return to normality as soon as possible, but not forget how nature has been able to recover in some places. And that we do not overcompensate and destroy everything again soon.

But I am neither a politician nor an activist and I want to write about my hobby, photography. So here’s a little insight into my last 3 months.

On 16 March, the Swiss government declared the “extraordinary situation” and sent the country into lockdown. I tend to call it soft-lockdown, because the freedom of movement was limited, but was always maintained in principle.

From a photographic point of view, I had to think about how to bridge this time. The season, the spring, helped me taking the decision. I wanted to focus on the “normal”. The simple things we too often take for granted.

The following photos were taken either directly in the garden or within a maximum of 5 km from my home.
